Hi I am a member of Des Carthy group but now living in Co. Longford. I have a question.
I have a loan with Ulster Bank!!!!. And have set up a contract to take so much out of my account every month since I was made unemplyed I am now in college full time doing a degree (trying to make things better for myself)I have no assets of any value and the bank has stopped taking the money out of my account and are now threating to give my details to a debt collecting agent or take me to court the money we agree has all ways been there for them I have never defaulted on the agreement and my situation has not changed but worse if things be told. My question is what can I do to stop this harasssment by the bank as they stopped taking the money out of my account

If it is your wish to pay Ulster Bank an amount every month or week and they have stopped taking it from your account (direct debit I presume) then you should simply walk into the bank and pay it into your mortgage account directly or set up a standing order to your Mortgage account ( which is what I have done), you can then amend the standing order to suit your personal circumstances each month. I wouldn’t worry too much about debt collectors or threats of court from the bank until either becomes reality. My personal view is that I continue to pay what I can to remain in honour.
I am going along to the meeting in Moate on Dec 8th so maybe I will see you there.
